The art I make is part of an ongoing conversation with myself where I explore how I experience myself on the inside vs the outside. Some parts feel specific and personal to me while others parts feel universal. Iām interested in recognizable symbols and play with how they transform when the context changes.
I was born and raised in NYC, received my BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2002 and my MFA from The University of Pennsylvania in 2004. In 2012 I left the city and moved to rural northern California where I live now with my family of humans and animals. I teaching drawing and painting at Mendocino College and work in my studio daily.
